I was born by the ocean, raised in a desert and have spent the rest of my life in the midwest. By day I teach ART, kindergarten through 5th grade. And yes, I do have the best job in the school. I absolutely love what I do. However I am a third generation photographer. My Grandpa was a product photographer from a very young age until he retired. Both of my parents were camera bugs, but my mother had the real eye for beautiful settings. She was very into historic preservation. My Dad takes pictures too of itty bitty minerals. So tiny you can barely see them, but under the microscope/camera they are sooo beautiful. So when I add my love of all things creative, throw in a camera and a dash of preservation, I am just wired to take pictures.
I love taking pictures of newborns, kids, engagements and seniors right before their senior year (such fun). I've taken casual weddings but the emphasis there is on casual backyard type of weddings.
The best part is when someone calls or texts me to tell me that I have captured their "true" child..what better compliment could a photographer receive?
My youngest son Jack and I went on a month long trip out west to 13 National Parks, yep that's right 13.
Spring also means track season and I just love capturing kids in their "moment". Remember the best photos are not posed. Kids aren't usually concentrating on a camera when they are giving it their all.
So you may ask? What's the story with the name? Many, many years ago, my dear friend Renee's daughter Lauren couldn't pronounce my last name. It always came out as "Threebeans." So when I had to choose a name for my business that started with the photographing of my "Three" kids, it was the only name I considered. By the way this is Renee's beautiful Grandbaby!
I'm so thankful that I live with three willing, well mostly willing models! One of my favorite websites that always inspires me; beckyhiggins.com One of the best scrapbookers EVER... She updates frequently with great photography, recipes and organizational ideas. I'm very excited to be a part of her GREAT PHOTO GIVEAWAY. I believe everyone needs a photograph to treasure. I also watch etsy.com for art ideas. I'm constantly looking for ideas to turn into lesson plans. Another favorite is www.nga.gov the national gallery of art site. Totally cool things for kids to do! I have a new favorite site that is so inspiring for parents and teachers. www.madebyjoel.com/blogspot
